A 1970 Chevy Nova is up for sale on eBay, albeit with a catch: it is powered by a high-performance V8 engine that spent most of the last 30 years in the owner’s jet boat.
The Chevy Nova was a popular muscle car in the late 1960s to early 1970s.
In particular, the Nova SS 350 in the listing was a performance model that was fitted with black-accented anodized aluminum grilles, heavy-duty suspension, simulated hood air intakes and power brakes.
The Nova is listed as a project car, and the owner says it would take about a month to restore it to its former glory.

A Chevy Nova project car that is not yet in driving condition
The listing describes the car as a real 1970 Nova SS 350, with the original bolt rear end with 3.55 gears.
And while the owner does not have paperwork to confirm it as a factory SS model, he said the car possesses factory rear sway bar mounts for an F41 suspension package, which was only available on the SS model.

Photographs of the car show it in generally good condition, with just a few paint blemishes.
The owner also stated that he installed new bumpers, grill, lights, carpet, speakers, trim pieces, gauges, and steering column, among other things.
While the car is not currently in driving condition, and is listed as a project car at the moment, the owner estimates that a month of work will make the car roadworthy.
Engine was originally introduced for the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454
The most interesting thing about the car lies under the hood: the 1970 LS6 454 engine, which was originally introduced in 1970 for the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454.
It was the most powerful engine in a production car that year, officially rated at 450 horsepower and over 500 lb-ft of torque.

According to the owner, he built the engine about 30 years ago, but rather than putting it in a car, he installed it in his jet boat, where it remained until about two years ago.
He said that the engine ran great in the boat, though he admitted that he has not started it in the Nova just yet.
The car is currently listed for $29,000 on eBay, and is located in Los Angeles.
