In big news for American muscle car fans, it looks like the new Chevy Corvette ZR1X is about to take on Germany’s Nürburgring for the first time.
Initially, rumors swirled that the Corvette ZR1X was going to be named the Zora after the General Motors engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov. But we’ve had confirmation that the ZR1X is here and ready to roll.
The ZR1X is hopefully going to set a new lap record for American-series production vehicles – the fastest Corvette title is currently held by the Z06.
The new Corvette can produce a mind-boggling 1,250HP and reach 60MPH in less than two seconds. This Chevy is seriously fast.

There’s nothing like a classic American muscle car, and the new Chevy Corvette ZR1X is planning on making history by taking on Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife.
According to rumors swirling around the carparazzi, General Motors is intending to set a new lap record for American series-production vehicles.
But the racetrack’s unpredictable inclement weather might make that difficult.
Some other Corvettes have been spotted nearby, including the ZR1 and the Z06, so it looks like American Corvettes have really come to prove themselves.
Initially predicted to be called the Corvette Zora after the engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, the newly christened ZR1X is bright yellow and incredibly speedy.

The 5.5-liter V8 can hit 60MPH in under 2 seconds. But General Motors has limited the LT7 engine to just 8,000 revolutions a minute, a bit less than its predecessor, the Z06.
This engine is the next evolution of the ZR1‘s engine, but this time it can reach a whopping 1,250HP.
Extra muffling is required for this beast and its quad-tip exhaust system. The muffling was necessary – the sound limit at the circuit is 130dB, and the unmuffled exhaust was almost deafening.
Who knows whether Chevy’s example of pure power will be able to break records. But it’s certainly set up to do so.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
