This Chinese practical driving test course is completely unforgiving, and one tiny miscalculation could be enough to keep you without a driver’s license forever.

A viral video showed a driver attempting a bizarre-looking series of precision maneuvers that seemed more like an obstacle course than a driving test.

It quickly racked up millions of views as people tried to work out whether they could actually make it through without touching a line.

And honestly, this might make your own driving test look ridiculously easy.

This Chinese driving test looks more like an obstacle course

The viral 48-second video was shared on Twitter in November 2022 by businessman Tansu Yegen with the caption ‘Driver license exam station in China’.

It was viewed more than 11 million times before it was removed, and it’s pretty easy to see why.

The driver began by steering through a narrow zigzag course marked out by white lines on the ground, which looked stressful enough, but then things got even more complicated.

The car had to weave through a tight figure-eight section without touching the lines.

Then came another figure eight, except this time the driver had to reverse through it.

The whole thing appeared to demand incredibly precise control, because the car had to remain inside the marked-out course while navigating the tight turns.

One slightly overconfident steering input and the whole thing could go spectacularly wrong.

It basically looked like someone had taken every maneuver you could possibly be asked to practice in driving lessons and crammed them into one brutally unforgiving course, and it looks like the test was completed by a massive station wagon.

One tiny mistake could cost you the whole test

The footage sparked plenty of debate online, with some viewers joking that it looked like something from “Fast and Furious” or even a video game.

Some commenters thought it was ‘pretty easy tbh’ and that they could easily complete this, with one saying: “I could do this easily, it’s called peripheral vision and knowing where you can and can’t fit.”

And there is an important detail to remember before assuming this is the entire Chinese driving test.

The viral footage did not show every part of the country’s licensing process, and every country has a different driving test – some much more arduous than others.

Reports say the examination involves four parts, including two practical and two theoretical tests and the first practical test was also said to involve passing five different challenges in one attempt.

That means the viral course was only one part of a much bigger process, rather than the entire test.

Imagine spending weeks practicing for your driving test with your instructor, finally getting behind the wheel on the big day and then being told to reverse a car through a figure eight without touching the lines.

Suddenly, parallel parking doesn’t seem quite so terrifying.

The real question is whether you think you could pass this course.

Because judging by the tiny gaps, tight turns, and seemingly zero margin for error, one little miscalculation could be all it takes to fail.
