This is the Cixi Vigoz, a three-wheeled, chainless pedal car that’s halfway between a motorcycle and an automobile.
It has a top speed that’s higher than you think, and a range that’s better than you could imagine.
It’s also quite clever from a technical standpoint.
But there are a few things worth pointing out.

This pedal car uses F1-style technology… sort of
The Cixi Vigoz is quite clever.
It uses something called PERS (Pedaling Energy Recovery System), which is like KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) but it uses pedaling energy (instead of kinetic energy) to reuse energy and turn it into electricity.
This explains the surprisingly high top speed, 120KM/H (75MPH) and the range of 160KM (100 miles).
Although we should point out that the vehicle has so far only been tested for 100KM/h (62MPH).
Then again if it they made it work for 100KM/H, it shouldn’t be that difficult to test it to 120KM/H).

So it is kind of like an electric bicycle, but it’s faster, safer and more comfortable.
Partly because you have a roof and windows (and a proper car-style seat), but also because pedaling is even less physically daunting as it would be in an electric bicycle because of PERS.
A couple of things worth noting
It sounds great but there are a couple of things worth bearing in mind.
First, Cixi Vigoz isn’t designed to be a personal vehicle you just go buy, privately own and then use, and then maybe resell.

The idea is that you can only get with a subscription.
Like a web domain or a food delivery service.
So it isn’t an exactly an Uber or Turo, as in you can still get one and be the only user, but you’re still not technically the owner.

Second, and this is kind of a big deal, we don’t know what it’s going to cost because Cixi hasn’t mentioned anything about pricing yet.
Cixi said reservations will open soon.
And presumably we’ll know a bit more about pricing by then.
