This dusty muscle car is an Australian barn find with a preserved car interior, and the classic Ford Falcon hasn’t moved in nearly 30 years.
Sitting quietly in a shed on a Queensland farm, the rare 1973 GT RPO 83 remained untouched, unregistered, and unseen for decades.
Despite the dust, the preserved car interior is in exceptional shape, and there’s a reason for that.
A resident carpet python made this dusty muscle car its home, and it’s been protecting the cabin ever since.

The classic Ford Falcon in question is one of just 120 GT RPO 83 models ever made.
But this one is even rarer.
This model was built in a one-off color called Sogo Port Wine and was originally bought by Alan Stirling for around $4,000.
When the car changed hands briefly, Alan’s son Peter quickly stepped in and took it back.

From there, it became an Australian farm find, sitting on their Merry Valley property near Gympie for three full decades.
What makes this dusty muscle car so extraordinary is how original and well-kept it still looks despite the passage of time.
The preserved car interior of this classic Ford Falcon hasn’t been redone, reupholstered, or replaced.
Everything remains just as it was, protected by the presence of a large carpet python that has lived inside for years.
With no rodents able to chew the wiring, destroy the seats, or nest in the fabric, this dusty muscle car now has an interior that looks shockingly clean for a vehicle that hasn’t been driven since the 1990s.

Locals say the snake is part of the car’s story, and now, part of its value.
This Australian barn find is about to go up for auction through Grey’s, with expectations that it could sell for more than $500,000.
The untouched state, original parts, unique color, and authentic backstory have made this dusty muscle car a high-interest item among collectors.

Experts say it’s the kind of discovery that only comes once in a generation.
Given how few GT RPO 83s remain in unrestored condition, this classic Ford Falcon could set a new benchmark for barn find pricing in Australia.
Buyers will not only be bidding on a rare piece of motoring history but also on the authenticity of a vehicle that tells a uniquely Australian story.
The preserved car interior, the rural origins, and even the role of the snake have made this classic Ford Falcon far more than just an old car.
It’s a time capsule.
And for anyone in the market for a dusty muscle car with real provenance, this one might be the ultimate barn find.
