This classic Midwest Ford was buried in dust for 40 years and it still looks like a spaceship

This classic Ford had been buried in dust for 40 years and still looked like a spaceship.

It was uncovered by YouTuber Fencerow Finds when he paid a visit to a dilapidated barn.

The car in question was a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500.

Would it look better in the light of day after it’d been hosed down?

Barn finds really are something special.

You never know what cars you’ll uncover when you take a look inside a barn.

Car enthusiasts have uncovered a lot of great gems inside the wooden walls of these barns – including a 1955 Chevy, a REO Flying Cloud, and a 1969 Mustang.

One thing is almost guaranteed, though – these tend to be some of the dustiest cars you’ll ever lay eyes on.

And the 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 uncovered by Fencerow Finds is no exception to that.

It’d been sitting inside a barn for 40 years.

To say it was sitting pretty would be a lie.

The dust that covered it was thick, you could sneeze just looking at it through your phone.

On the plus side, it didn’t appear to be rusty.

How would things look once it was taken out of the dark barn and given a wash?

Well, it couldn’t have looked any worse, that’s for sure.

Sure enough, things did start looking a bit better once the hose was turned on the Ford.

Well, somewhat.

With all the dirt and dust washed off, the problems came to light – like some rust on the roof.

But on the whole, it was a true return to form.

“It’s not perfect, but all the inner stuff is really good on it,” the YouTuber said.

He wasn’t wrong there.

The teal interior looked great, even if it was in need of a washdown, too.

As far as the engine was concerned, it had held up quite well, particularly once the ‘mouse droppings’ were cleared out.

Let’s look on the bright side – nobody could be seen gagging, as happened with the mice nest that was uncovered in this Honda Acura NSX.
