A Colorado man is the latest to have swapped a Ford F-150 for a Tesla Cybertruck.

It follows a recent trend of traditional truck owners going electric.

This Colorado native is the latest to make the move.

And he has claimed that the difference is like going from the Victorian era to the future.

Today’s story concerns the growing trend in the truck industry.

And the trend in question relates to the division between ICE-powered trucks and the Tesla Cybertruck.

2025 has seen a seemingly growing exodus from ICE-powered trucks.

And the EV Tesla Cybertruck has been the grateful recipient of these new customers.

The latest conversion story comes to us from a Colorado native.

And he cannot believe the difference between his Ford F-150 and the Tesla Cybertruck.

Posting on the Cybertruck Owners Club website, the Colorado man posted his story.

“I’ve had a 2025 AWD truck for 3 weeks now,” the post begins.

“I’ve regretted purchasing FSD, but only because this truck is so much fun to drive.”

He then explained that he bought FSD as part of a promotion.

“[But] the steer-by-wire combined with rear wheel steering is mind-blowing. Seriously feels like driving the future.”

Interestingly, the man’s wife compared it to the difference between a typewriter and a laptop.

“Technically, an F150 or Tundra does the same basic things, but nowhere near with this capability and ease of use.”

He’s emphatic that the $80,000 price tag is more than worth it.

“Tesla would move a whole lot more of these if people could experience driving them. Don’t judge it til you drive it!”

Fellow owners detail their experiences

Following the post, several people chimed in with their testimonies of owning the EV truck.

“My only regret is that I have but one CT to drive across my country”, one comment humorously said.

“I love my CT too. The only thing I’m different from you is, I love the fsd and I love the auto park.

“Being older at 80, I lost my sharp estimation, so I let my CT do all the work. $80,000 seemed over the top price for me, but it’s worth it,” another noted.

“FSD seems to have the most value on highway for me. In city is just to fun to drive it. Just haven’t gotten the chance to take it long distance yet,” was the view of another owner.

The Tesla Cybertruck is something of a unique phenomenon.

The electric pickup truck came with perhaps the most anticipation of any vehicle in recent memory.

Its unveiling process memorably saw the glass shattered by brand CEO Elon Musk.

The Cybertruck saw several lengthy delays, only finally being released in 2023.

It hasn’t exactly caught on the way that Tesla would have wanted.

But it still remains a unique phenomenon within the car industry.
