Inside Cristiano Ronaldo's $81M private jet is even more luxurious than its custom livery as it's like a flying penthouse

Cristiano Ronaldo owns one of the most stunning private aircraft ever made, a Bombardier Global Express XRS customized for him.

This is a long-range jet capable of flying from Europe to the Middle East and even the Americas.

It’s worth a fortune, but then again CR7 is a billionaire at this point.

And what he had to say about it was quite funny, albeit accurate.

Inside Ronaldo’s new Bombardier

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo said he’s owned a private jet for over a decade.

He’s changed a few of those through the years, and this is the latest.

It’s a Bombardier Global Express XRS, a long-range jet built for intercontinental travel, which comes in handy when you live and work in Saudi Arabia but have homes in Madrid and the Azores, an archipelago located several hundred miles west of the coast of Portugal.

In this configuration, the jet can cover up to 6,000 nautical miles on a ‘tank’ of fuel.

It’s basically a flying penthouse, with private lounge areas, a dedicated dining space, and a fully equipped bedroom.

It also comes with high-speed connectivity, and a fully functional galley, ensuring every journey is both productive and relaxing.

It’s worth at least $81 million.

This is how Cristiano Ronaldo ‘justified’ buying his private aircraft

Speaking to Piers Morgan on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show, Cristiano Ronaldo made a point that may sound funny and overconfident, but it’s actually probably true.

“The most expensive thing I bought? My plane,” he said.

And he then explained the rationale behind this in typical CR7 manner.

“I need the plane because I’m not a normal person. I can’t be in airports,” he pointed out.

Ronaldo is the most followed person on Instagram, and one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world, which is why he has a point.

Even if he chose to fly commercial, the whole airport would come to a halt asking for autographs and selfies.

Ronaldo may have made a few changes to his Bombardier Global Express XRS

We had a look online and found several conflicting reports.

However, a YouTuber called Madeira Airport Spotting came to the rescue by providing visual confirmation with several videos depicting CR7’s private aircraft landing at the airport as recently as early 2026.

The livery seems to be a bit different – less conspicuous, with the ‘CR7’ logo barely visible, applied in a low-contrast, stealth-like print near the main doorway.

We should clarify that by law, the tail number must remain visible, but CR7 has probably painted it in a way that makes it technically legal, yet de-facto invisible.

Also, the registration number seems different, and tracking is limited.

Then again, considering his status, this is just to protect his privacy.
