A customer who bought a Ford sedan from a used car retailer found a note in the glovebox that brought them them to tears because it was so sweet.
The previous owner – called Sunny – had left an emotional message on a post-it, expressing their love for the car, lovingly named Kirby.
The note in the car read: “Thank you for giving Kirby a new home. He was my first car. I hope you love him just as much.”
This simple, emotional message touched the new owner deeply and has since moved many who have heard the story.

Ford sedan with an emotional note inside
Kimberly C. – the new owner of the car – shared this heartfelt experience of TikTok.
In her video, she revealed that her husband discovered the note.
“My husband told me he had found a note from the previous owner in the glovebox,” the text read.
Kimberly used her TikTok post to tell Sunny that Kirby was still loved and now living in Colorado.
“I just want to let Sunny know that I do love Kirby. And he now lives in Colorado,” the text on the video read.
Her post gained a lot of attention, with people commenting on how attached we can get to our cars and wishing that the video would somehow reach Sunny.
People usually get attached to their vehicles
Sunny and Kimberly aren’t the only ones having a deep connection to their cars.
People can build seriously strong connections with their vehicles over time.
Vehicles often carry memories, from road trips to daily commutes, and the milestones shared with them help build a strong connection.
So it’s perhaps no wonder that Sunny was emotional when giving up her priceless possession.
In a similar example of people holding on to their cars for much longer than expected, a 102-year-old man drove the same Rolls-Royce for 77 years.
We hope Sunny received the update on Kirby and is reassured that the beloved car has found a new home with caring owners.
