This man just cranked his Vauxhall Corsa up to 713hp on a stock engine.

He didn’t stop there either, he then tried to reach 150mph in it.

Now, footage of his ambitious attempts is going viral.

And spoiler alert, it reaches 150mph, but then things take a turn for the worse.

Building a Vauxhall Corsa – with 713hp

Today’s story is yet another tale of ridiculous car customization in an attempt to go fast.

But this particular attempt is one of the craziest yet.

The video comes to us from the guys over at the OFFICIALLY GASSED – OG YouTube channel.

Jamie Sonuga, the presenter, introduces a very…unique looking car.

It is an old-school Vauxhall Corsa – the staple of a lot of first time drivers in the UK.

But this isn’t exactly the type of Vauxhall Corsa for someone that has just passed their driving test.

Inside the hood is a completely stock, 2.3-liter SAAB engine, but this SAAB powerplant produces 713hp.

A massive cooler has been installed to keep everything together.

Simon currently holds the record for the fastest SAAB-powered FWD drive car.

He has also done a 9.87s quarter-mile – which is, of course, wild.

On the inside, there is also a custom DSG gearbox – because Simon didn’t want to put a clutch-slipper in for the launches.

Attempting 150mph in the DIY Cross

With an engine so powerful, naturally the guys wanted to push it to its limits with some high-speed runs on the track.

The first high-speed run left Jamie with his jaw on the floor.

On one run, Simon actually ran out of speedometer – because the Corsa’s dash only went up to 130mph.

The following run actually saw the pair shoot past the 150mph marker on the digital dash.

Unfortunately, on the last rolling run, the car actually cut out – but not before the pair had had a lot of fun.

That is why the process of allowing the car to cool after every run is so important.

This is definitely one of the craziest (and best) builds that we have ever seen.
