2026 Ford Escape won’t be sold in some US states
The upcoming 2026 Ford Escape and Escape Hybrid might be hitting showrooms soon, but not everywhere in America.
Ford has confirmed that emissions certification issues mean the new Escape won’t be legally sold in the six states that follow California’s stricter standards, including California, New York, and Massachusetts.
It’s strange considering how the powertrains haven’t changed from 2025, but Ford seems to have chosen not to go through the yearly certification process for a model that’s ending production this year.

Rivian has come to play in the self-driving space race
Rivian is rolling out an ambitious new autonomous driving project for 2026 that rivals competitors like Waymo and Tesla on price and capability.
The brand’s new Autonomy Plus package will bring hands-free driving to the second generation of R1 vehicles and even more advanced autonomy to its upcoming R2 lineup.
What’s cool is that it’s more affordable than Tesla’s FSD, with a smaller $2,500 one-time fee or $49.99 monthly fee, and Rivian’s tech roadmap includes its own chips and LIDAR for allegedly better self-driving.

Hyundai and Kia to retrofit 4 million vehicles for anti-theft protection
Hyundai and Kia have agreed to retrofit more than 4 million models in the US with stronger anti-theft hardware and improve future vehicles with engine immobilizers.
This announcement has come after rising theft figures caused an investigation across many states.
This move also follows viral social media trends exploiting weak theft protections on older Hyundai and Kia models.
The fix will be free to eligible owners and will hopefully make Hyundai and Kia drivers sleep better at night.

Audi’s wild GT50 concept celebrates the five-cylinder’s 50th birthday
Audi has revealed the GT50 concept, a one-off machine that was built by apprentices to honor 50 years of the brand’s iconic inline-five engine.
Based on an RS3 Sportback and upgraded with race-inspired bodywork and motorsport details, the GT50 is pure racing history.
While it’s sadly not headed for production, it embodies everything Audi loves: heritage, teamwork, and creative engineering.
