This dealer explained why a customer brought back a brand $79,000 2025 Lincoln Aviator after only owning it for one week.

When someone spends that type of cash, it’s hard to imagine them having buyer’s remorse.

But this customer did and realized pretty sharpish that the car wasn’t for them.

Why did this Lincoln Aviator get returned so quickly?

When a car gets returned, there’s usually an issue at play.

Perhaps the mechanics were faulty or the car just wasn’t what the buyer was hoping for.

But in this case, it could be argued that the Aviator was a victim of its own success.

Car salesman, Russ, took to TikTok to tell the story of why this customer brought the car back in.

He explained: “So this car was $79,000 brand new. It has the massage seats, it has the nice backseat with the center consoles.

“It’s the right color interior and it only has 447 miles on it.”

However, within a week, the car was back on his doorstep.

Why?

Because the technology was ‘really tough’ for the owner to use.

The customer reportedly told Russ: “We don’t need this tech.  

“We just want a car we can get in and you know hook up our phone and put the climate controls on.”

Upon returning the 2025 Aviator, the customer requested a 2024 model as they were more familiar with that car.

Sometimes familiarity is what we all crave in our cars.

This man was moved to tears when he was reunited with a car that he used to drive in the 1970s.

What will happen to the returned car now?

Russ explained that the car will need reselling.

He told his viewers: “Now I have a 2025 Lincoln Aviator with 447 miles that I need to sell.

“So we’re going to sell this car for 10 grand MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price).

“Sixty-nine-nine through the end of this month only.

“Or we’ll just put it in our loaner fleet cause that’s probably where we’re gonna put this thing anyways.”

He put the offer out there for his followers to follow through on – will somebody snatch it up?

The 2025 model comes with a larger infotainment screen and has new software attached to it.

All versions come with a four-year trial subscription to BlueCruise hands-free driving tech.

This is in addition to other neat features such as a wireless charging pad, heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

With perks like those, it’ll be only a matter of time before somebody takes this unwanted Aviator home – permanently this time.

It should be of some comfort to the Aviator that are certainly more unwanted cars out there – just take America’s most unreliable car as a prime example of that.
