Detroit police recently recovered four high-end cars worth $450,000 at a junkyard in Detroit.

The stolen cars included a brand-new Dodge Ram, an Acadia, and a Corvette.

The cars were unearthed after the owner of one of the stolen vehicles said it was pinging at the junkyard, leading authorities to investigate.

And as it turns out, the police got there just in time.

High-end cars recovered by Detroit police

When police tracked down the vehicles, they found they’d been loaded onto a shipping container.

Police believed the cars were about to be sold to new unsuspecting buyers.

The story, which was covered by FOX 2 Detroit, is unfortunately not uncommon.

There are a lot of cars being stolen and illegally sold on the black market right across the United States.

The US isn’t the only place it’s happening either.

Similar to Detroit, UK police recently recovered $1.3 million worth of supercars from a chop shop.

Other raids by the police

Detroit’s car theft team says it’s been incredibly busy of late.

The Detroit police unit said it was working overtime to combat car thefts that were on the rise due to vehicle shortages.

Detroit police raided multiple locations where hundreds of stolen cars were found, with many already chopped up for parts.

In another raid, the police said they found over $100,000 worth of stolen cars and auto parts.

The chief of police has made it clear that the department will aggressively pursue these criminals.

The stolen cars will be returned to their rightful owners, unlike what happened in Michigan.

In Michigan, the police seized a 1981 Chevy Camaro Z28 from a drug cartel and added the car to its fleet of cop cars.
