The country boasts lashings of unparalleled views, mountains, and lakes, but to navigate the scenery safely, precautions must be taken.
And, thanks to weather and lighting conditions, drivers need to be extra vigilant.
Which is exactly why it is a must to keep your headlights on, even in blazing sunshine.

You have to drive with your headlights on at all times in Norway
When it comes to driving overseas, rules and regulations differ, depending on the location.
A variety of factors, such as lighting conditions and changeable weather, can affect which rules are enforced, especially in places that are home to harsher conditions.
So, it’ll come as no surprise that overseas in Norway, the rules differ from the US.
In fact, in the European country, it is compulsory to drive with your headlights on at all times.

“Dipped headlights are mandatory at all times, even in the middle of the brightest summer day,” explained Visit Norway.
But, it’s not only cars that are affected; motorcycles and mopeds must also abide by the rules, too.
Plus, if the inside of your car is designed to drive on the right-hand side, you must use black triangles on your headlights to avoid dazzling other drivers.’

So, everyone driving in Norway must ensure that their lights are constantly in perfect working order to keep safe.
Unusual road rules don’t just end in Norway
Back in the US, there are some pretty unusual road laws that wouldn’t initially cross drivers’ minds in the first instance.
In fact, in Indiana, even securing a ride can be difficult, as it’s actually illegal to buy a car on a Sunday.
Plus, if that wasn’t confusing enough, down in Oregon, they are hot on door laws. You see, it’s illegal to open your car door in an improper way, alongside leaving it wide open.
So, before you travel to somewhere new and take to the open road, it’s worth checking up on some of the road laws to avoid any nasty, legal surprises.
