A TikTok user has been left shocked after discovering a secret feature on his car that he had no idea existed, and it left him questioning if he’d been ‘living under a rock’.

The Australian motorist said he only discovered the feature after seeing it on TikTok and that he initially didn’t believe it.

So, he decided to test it out for himself and make his own TikTok video with the results.

And it’s safe to say he was left shocked by the discovery.

The secret feature has been leaving motorists mind-blown

TikTok can be a useful place to learn things about your car that you didn’t previously know, like this woman who discovered the key fob to her Honda Civic had a neat little feature hidden away.

Last week, a woman in Australia was left gobsmacked after finding out her Nissan had a smart feature on its headlights

In a clip on TikTok, she turned Nissan’s headlights on, switched them up to high beam, and pulled on the turn signal/wiper stalk for three seconds.

The result? Tiny windscreen cleaning style jets appeared under her headlight and shot water at them.

That clip has since gone viral, with hundreds of other motorists also shocked by the hidden feature.

Another Aussie driver decided to test it out on his car to check it wasn’t just a gimmick for the video.

In the clip, he explained that he ‘saw on TikTok all cars have automatic headlight washers’.

Much like the original clip, he then hopped in his car and – ta dah! – the headlight washers were activated.

In many countries, including Australia, headlight washers are legally required on vehicles that have high-intensity discharge (HID) or xenon headlights.

This is because having dirt can scatter the super-bright and intense light, which can be a hazard for other drivers.

Do all cars have this feature?

Despite being a legal requirement for some vehicles, in some parts of the world, headlight washers aren’t fitted ‘on every car’ as the TikToker originally suggested.

And it wasn’t long before others chipped in to point that out.

“Can confirm my car does not have a headlight washer. Kia Rio sport 2020,” said one motorist.

“Geez, I better go check my 1969 Buick,” someone else joked.

“Not all cars have automatic headlight washing, my Jeep doesn’t,” a third wrote.
