In some truly remarkable footage, two drivers were caught keeping a vehicle running using a barely believable trick.
Footage shared on TikTok and then Instagram has shown two cars connected while running through traffic.
The cars, a Jeep SUV and a Kia sedan, were connected via a jumper cable, with one of the cars seemingly struggling and the other being used to keep it going.
It looks like something you would see in a Hollywood movie, but judging by the video, it’s clearly something that actually worked, and worked well.

How the drivers were caught keeping a vehicle running
It is remarkable to see how these drivers were caught using this trick.
The footage shows the Jeep and Kia running side by side at a set of traffic lights.
Between the two is a cable, going from the front of the Kia to the front of the Jeep.
While we only get a brief angle from the rear, the two are clearly connected.
Something has evidently gone wrong somewhere electrically with one of the two vehicles.

The cables are likely linked between the batteries of the cars, or perhaps to one of the alternators.
If the alternator isn’t working, the battery will not charge, and the car will eventually stop.
This is why cars sometimes need jumping to get on the move again.
Clearly, these two drivers have discovered a neat trick!

Is connecting the two cars together on the move safe?
Of course, there are downsides to connecting these two cars.
If the vehicles need to turn left or right, it could cause the cable to snap off one of them.
Both cars will have to maintain the same speed as well.
Plus, while they are clearly on a dual-lane road, not every road has more than one lane.
So if the second lane disappears, that could present a new challenge.
It isn’t impossible that some damage to the batteries could also be caused by this constant connection.

However, despite this, you do have to admire the creativity behind the solution.
Normally, you’d be stuck at the side of the road or would have to get to a garage.
This is one way of keeping a vehicle running and getting it closer to home, even if it does look fraught!
