This elderly couple has the ultimate hack when it comes to swerving a retirement home, and instead of settling on land, they’ve opted to set sail on 51 back-to-back cruises.
Speaking to local media, the couple revealed their lavish lifestyle is actually more cost-effective than living in a home.
From buffets and sightseeing to living in a cabin, the couple has been at sea for two whole years.
In fact, when their adventure began, they became celebrities at sea.

Retiring was the start of one epic adventure for this couple
Many think that when the time to retire beckons, life becomes boring and repetitive, but one couple from the land down under has proven that life doesn’t stop in your golden era.
Aussie husband and wife Marty and Jess Ansen decided to take a different approach to retirement and, instead of living in a retirement home, opted to go run away to sea.

It all began in June 2023, when the pair hopped on board the Coral Princess. Instead of winding down, life somewhat ramped up, with travel, dancing, and socializing.
Think about it: mundane daily tasks like cooking and cleaning are taken care of, and included in the price of a cruise.
So, instead of wasting time with domestic chores, the pair can really absorb all of life’s little wonders, and travel at the same time.

Back-to-back cruises have cost the couple less than a retirement home
The pair haven’t just booked a cruise or two; they’ve embarked on a true journey of ocean exploration, booking an impressive 51 back-to-back cruises.

In fact, the couple even welcomes captains on board and could be considered celebrities in the cruise world.
“They welcome the captains rather than the other way round,” ship manager Ren van Rooyen told A Current Affair.
We have to admit, it’s a clever way to both save money and see the world.
One thing’s for sure, the couple sure aren’t landlubbers anymore.
