An electric car driver taking their first EV test drive said the instant acceleration felt ‘mind-blowing’ and the ride was unlike anything they had experienced before.

The driver had only driven petrol cars before trying the BYD electric model.

Their account was shared online shortly after BYD began selling its electric vehicles in the country.

In just a short drive, they discovered a very different kind of motoring.

First ride for the electric car driver

The driver posted their account on a public electric vehicle forum after visiting a BYD showroom.

They described how the EV test drive stood out for its rapid throttle response, with instant acceleration providing a strong push forward from a standstill.

Electric motors deliver maximum power immediately, which makes the performance feel very different from petrol cars.

“It was a surreal experience,” they wrote.

“The way these cars accelerate is amazing. For someone who drives an ICE vehicle, the difference in acceleration was mind-blowing.”

The driver, from Pakistan, also said it was incredibly quiet inside the cabin, and there was almost no vibration, which made the drive feel calmer and more refined.

In Pakistan, electric vehicles are still a new sight on the roads.

Test drives like this give potential buyers a direct look at what the technology can offer.

Market analysts say these real-world experiences often carry more weight than advertising because they allow drivers to judge the cars for themselves.

Instant acceleration sparks interest

BYD’s launch in Pakistan is part of a wider plan to move into markets where interest in cleaner transport is starting to grow.

The company is offering electric models that aim to balance price and performance in a way that appeals to new buyers.

Instant acceleration, fewer moving parts to service, and savings on fuel are proving to be strong draws.

Analysts note that an EV test drive can help to clear up concerns about how these cars perform in daily use.

Many drivers who try one for the first time are surprised by how responsive and quiet they are, which can shift opinions quickly.

Cleaner air is another factor drawing interest, especially in busy cities where pollution levels are high.

If drivers can charge their cars from renewable sources such as solar, the environmental benefits can be even greater.

For this electric car driver, a short EV test drive was enough to see the appeal.
