Cybertruck is one of the most important vehicles of the year so far.

It’s certainly the most hyped.

Not a day goes by without a new celebrity Instagram with their custom Cybertruck.

Elon Musk himself noticed the trend, and he had something to say about it.

Elon Musk’s response to Cybertruck becoming a celebrity vehicle

There are a lot of accounts on X that share updates on anything and everything Tesla religiously.

One of these accounts, Teslaconomics, posted on X sharing a list of some celebrities who own one.

The list includes Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams, Jay Leno, Serena Williams, Shai Gigeous-Alexander, Justin Bieber.

Elon Musk replied to the aforementioned post.

“Well, they clearly have great taste! Important to note that no one receives a discount (including me) and no one is paid to promote our products,” he wrote.

By the way, the post was shared a while back, so we should also add Shaquille O’Neal, LaMelo Ball and Meek Mill to the list.

A hype machine

The hype surrounding the Cybertruck began four years ago, when it was first announced, then it died down a bit, and then it kicked off again throughout 2023, when Tesla teased different details about the upcoming vehicle.

It was then launched in November 2023, with a lot of fanfare, and it’s still popular and sought after.

We should never forget that, in theory, this is just a regular, mass-produced truck, and yet people treat it like a limited-edition hypercar.

Kudos to Tesla for creating a vehicle that so many people are clearly in love with.

And more importantly kudos to Franz von Holzhausen, the man who designed it, and also the man who smashed the windows of the Cybertruck during an unveiling event in 2019.
