When this Embraer E190 came in to land, it wasn’t going to be easy

When Storm Ciara made landfall in the UK back in February 2020, it wreaked havoc.

Planes flying in and out of the UK had a tough job ahead of them.

One Boeing 777 pilot managed to pull off an impressive cross-wind landing, which most certainly tested the nerves of the passengers onboard.

But not all planes made it to the ground during this wild weather.

In a video shared by aviation YouTube channel Topfelya, an Embraer E190 was shown aborting its landing at Birmingham Airport.

It makes for captivating viewing to see this plane weaving from side to side as it struggles to make contact with the ground.

The wind’s ferocity proved to be too much, and the pilot ultimately gave up on the landing and headed back up into the sky.

As it lifted from the ground, the wings could be seen to shake slightly.

It looked like a nerve-wracking experience for all involved.

Landing videos are often demonstrations of skill on the pilot’s part

To fly a plane is to do the unthinkable in the minds of many people.

But yet, it’s another day at the office for pilots all around the world.

Whether it’s taking off in an Airbus A380 or landing a Boeing 737 at the world’s most difficult airport, these aviation clips make for electrifying viewing.

And landing in zero visibility conditions? Just part of the job description for this Boeing 737 pilot.
