The Aston Martin Valkyrie is the textbook definition of a hypercar.

The one-of-a-kind car came about as a collaboration between the British brand and Red Bull Technologies.

However, not many people know the full details behind Aston Martin’s mega project.

So today, we are here to explain exactly why the Valkyrie is so special.

Origin story of the Aston Martin Valkyrie

In 2016, Aston Martin and Red Bull Technologies made a big announcement.

Specifically, the two brands announced a technical partnership – as well as partnering on a hypercar.

This joint project would see Adrian Newey, the greatest car designer of his era, working on the car.

March 2017 would see the official unveiling of the “Valkyrie” name – which caused much excitement.

Upon release, the F1-aero influence was immediately clear with this newest hypercar.

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner revealed that it has always been a goal of Newey’s to design a road-going car.

He said that the project, “realises a dream and vision long held by Adrian to design a road car.”

What does the interior of the Valkyrie look like?

Well, to be completely honest – there’s not a whole lot of luxury.

To be fair, though, the Valkyrie is an F1-inspired hypercar, so Aston Martin has been true to that.

Essentially, what you find inside is a pretty strong mirroring of an F1 cockpit.

The seating angle in said cockpit is designed to replicate the same angle of that in an F1 car.

One also gets a square steering wheel – similar to what you would find in a track-based car.

However, one interesting piece of luxury it does have it two small screens.

Those two screens act as wing mirrors for this incredible hypercar.

What exactly powers this mythological beast?

This is where you get your $3,000,000 value.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is powered by an absolute beauty of an engine.

A Cosworth-developed, 6.5 liter, naturally aspirated V12 sits behind the driver.

The hypercar also comes with a massive electric motor that provides 160bhp on its own.

Oh, and the fun doesn’t stop there either – in fact, it’s only just beginning.

The Valkyrie comes with a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), kindly provided by the folks at Rimac.

In case you’re wondering what that is, it’s the same hybrid system used on F1 cars.

All of this magnificence adds up to 1,140 total bhp – not bad, right?
