Proving that not all heroes wear capes, someone has built a browser extension that will automatically enter your cookie preferences on every site you visit.
Cookies are small files that websites place on your browser that track small bits of information about you when you click, like your login status or shopping cart items.
They’re designed to give you a more personalized experience when you’re browsing the internet.
But they can also be pretty annoying, with many sites making you choose your cookie preferences every single time you visit, which is where this handy browser extension comes in.

This cookie-clicking extension will make life a lot easier
Browsing the internet can feel a bit like a giant game of Whack-A-Mole at times, with consent pop-ups asking you to ‘accept’ or ‘reject’ cookies.
And to make things even more frustrating, these pop-ups can occasionally crash the website making the whole experience more time consuming that it needs to be.

Thankfully, researchers at Denmark’s Aarhus University have come up with a super simple solution that you can install directly onto your browser: Consent-O-Matic.
Consent-O-Matic is a nifty little extension that intercepts the pop-ups and fills them with your preferences without you having to do a thing.
“Consent-O-Matic is a browser extension that recognizes CMP (Consent Management Provider) pop-ups that have become ubiquitous on the web and automatically fills them out based on your preferences,” the website explains.
Consent-O-Matic has six consent categories: Preferences and Functionality, Performance and Analytics, Information Storage and Access, Content Selection and Delivery, Ad Selection and Delivery, and Other Purposes, and they can all be toggled on or off to give you the best experience while browsing.
However, if you’re unsure which options to go for when it comes to your preferences, it will ‘choose the more privacy-preserving option’ as standard and ‘all tracking is rejected by default
Very useful.
The Consent-O-Matic extension can be installed on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge for your desktop and Safari for your phone.

Need some more handy little browser extensions?
There are some very handy browser extensions out there that will make using the internet a lot easier and more productive.
For example, if you find yourself easily distracted when online, then StayFocused is a great way to keep on track.

The extension allows you to put a limit on how long you spend on a website, or block them completely, so you can get back to what you should be doing.
Or if you’re the sort of person who has a dozen tabs open on your browser at any given time – no judgement here, we’re the same – then OneTab could come in handy.
It allows you to collect a bunch of different tabs under a single main tab, which makes it easier to find and uses less memory, so you’ll have a smoother performance.
The Google Keep extension is also great if you’re working on a project, as it allows you to save notes for later.
As well as tapping up your own notes, you can save page links, text, and images, and then sync them all to the Google Keep app on your phone.
