After buying a replica $1,000,000 Jaguar E-Type ‘Wildcat’ for the price of a Nissan, these British chaps received a heartwarming comment from the owner’s widow as they raced the fake supercar home from its barn in France.

The Jaguar E-Type is prime English engineering, showcasing luxury and class in a sporty body.

And some models were much better than others.

But having found a $1 million Wildcat variant, these lads bought it, raced the car home from France, and were given the seal of approval by the late owner’s wife, who was delighted at its chance at a second life.

Rescuing a million-dollar Jaguar E-Type from France

Knowing full well that they were on the way to buy a fake supercar, the YouTube creators at Hudson Auto Films couldn’t shake their piqued interest in this Jaguar E-Type wildcat.

And who could blame them? After all, even the cheapest E-Types have a lot to offer.

So much so that they bought themselves a one-day return ferry from the UK to France to pick it up, get it running, and jump back over the border.

After arriving in France, the mystery E-Type turned out ot be a solid replica of the actual Wildcat model, primed with a 2.8L Datsun straight-six running primarily on LPG, and neat bodywork.

However, it needed a good kick in the backside to get running again, and the owner was more than skeptical as to whether it was even possible.

But with a burst of life in the battery and some repairs to the engine, exhaust, and electrics, the car limped its way to the ferry and onto UK soil.

The widow of the fake supercar owner leaves a heartwarming comment

After defying belief, the new E-Type owners have been given the seal of approval from the previous owner’s widow, as she was stunned at the fact that they actually got it home.

“My late husband owned this car,” said Eilieen Williams in a comment to their YouTube post.

“So happy these two lovely lads have taken it on. I doubted them when they said they were driving back to the UK. Told everyone they must be mad not coming over with a trailer.”

The creators have pledged that the rebuild project will continue to evolve, and the fake supercar is coming closer and closer to removing the replica title and edging towards the real deal.
