BMW is known for producing some seriously fast cars – but some of its fastest supercars truly stand out from the rest.

In the 111 years the German manufacturer has been making cars, it has consistently upped the ante when it comes to speed.

But of all the hundreds of models that have been made over the years, there are some that are in a whole other league.

These cars put the speed in speed demon.

Which were the fastest supercars among the BMW roster?

When it comes to fast cars, we like to keep count of who the top dog is, right?

We’d all like to know which car is the fastest in the world.

In fact, one of the most Googled questions about the BMW is which car is the speediest.

Want to know the top rankings of the fastest supercars? We’ve got you covered.

The BMW heavy hitters

We’ve compiled the eight fastest supercars, some of which are neck and neck with their top speeds.

But that’s not all that’s taken into account when determining power.

2015 M5 ’30 Jahre Edition’ – 189mph

This limited edition was released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original M5, and what better way to say happy birthday?

For a car that’s a decade old, it holds its own against all the newcomers on this list, with 600hp and a 0-60mph speed of 3.9 seconds.

2023 M8 Competition – 189mph

Just missing out on the crowded second spot is the 2023 M8 Competition.

Its 0-60mph is on the cusp of cracking into the two second box at 3.0 seconds, but unfortunately this is a case of ‘close but no cigar’.

Not that this car is anything to sneeze at, with a horsepower of 617 and a perfect blend of luxury comfort and ferocious speed.

2015 M6 Competition – 190mph

So, quite a few cars are in joint second place on this ranking.

The M6 Competition can pack a punch, with 600hp and the ability to shoot from 0 to 60mph in 3.8 seconds.

2022 M5 CS – 190mph

Sharing second place is the 2022 M5 CS, which stands out as being capable of reaching 60mph in a staggering 2.6 seconds.

This was the first BMW to push above the three-second mark, making it one of two of the brand’s cars in the coveted two-second club.

And which other car made it into this category?

2023 M5 – 190mph

For a long while, BMW kept the M5 and the M5 Competition as separate cars.

In 2023, it was decided to merge the two and the 2023 M5 was offered up as different trim levels rather than separate models.

With 627hp and capable of reaching 60mph in 2.6 seconds, this really is a case of ‘Team work makes the dream work’.

2016 M4 DTM Champion Edition – 190mph

This car took driver Marco Wittman to his 2016 DTM championship title, and it’s easy to see why.

With astonishing force of 500hp, this model is kitted out with racing tech for drive and suspension that makes it a real champion.

2010 M3 GTS – 190mph

Finishing out second place is the 2010 M3 GTS, which is boosted by a V8 rated at a commendable 444hp.

This pushes power to the rear wheel and gives it that extra edge over opponents on the race track.

The Fastest BMW: 2022 M4 CSL – 191mph

Taking the top spot by one mile is the 2023 M4 CSL.

This two-seater is capable of reaching 60mph in 3.7 seconds and is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six.

It has 542hp, which is is impressive enough, but German tuner Manhart somehow managed to up that to 692hp with a wild modification.

And that stunning 3.7 second pace? Shaved off 0.2 seconds.

You really can improve on perfection.
