This incredible Ferrari collection charts the evolution of the paddle-shift transmission like a rolling museum of speed and innovation.
Five cars, spanning Formula 1 prototypes to road-going supercars, tell the story of how Ferrari changed the way the world shifts gears.
Instead of being split up, the entire group is being sold as one lot in a deal valued at roughly $28 million.
This deal is perfect for collectors who want a piece of motorsport history, rather than a simple garage upgrade.

Plenty of Ferrari history within the collection
The set, called Scuderia ’89 – The Pursuit for Paddle’, is being offered by British specialist Furlonger.
At its heart is the groundbreaking 1988 Ferrari 639 F1 chassis 106.

This was the first Formula 1 car ever fitted with paddle shifters and one of only two factory prototypes built to test Ferrari’s Tipo 035 3.5-litre V12.
It remained with Ferrari until 1999 and is still in running order, appearing at events like Goodwood and Silverstone with support from Ferrari Classiche.
Next comes the 1989 Ferrari 640 F1 chassis 110, raced by Gerhard Berger during the 1989 season.

It competed in grands prix including Canada, Britain, and Germany, and is widely regarded as the first paddle-shift car to race in the F1 World Championship.
Restored and Classiche-certified, it has since been driven again by Berger at major showcase events, even earning the Chairman’s Trophy at Pebble Beach.

This Ferrari collection is only sold as a full package
The road car side of the timeline starts with a 1989 Ferrari F40, one of just 30 in this specification and a veteran of UK racing events.

It has covered nearly 15,000 miles and remains in factory spec.
Then there is a 1996 Ferrari F50, one of only 25 UK-market cars, still running its original 4.7-litre V12 and accompanied by rare accessories.

Rounding out the set is a 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider, part of the first Ferrari road car range to use paddle-shift technology.

With just 5,500 miles, it represents the moment race-derived shifting reached everyday drivers.
While each individual car are amazing in their own right, this collection is only sold as a complete package.
Considering the $28 million price tag, it’s safe to say its next owner has to have some deep pockets.
