A man in Florida was left his late father’s 1968 Chevrolet Corvette, but has decided to part with the classic car due to a lack of space.
The first Corvette rolled off the production line in 1953, and in 1968, it launched the third generation, known as the C3.
The C3 set sales records for the Corvette, and even decades on, they’re still a popular choice for vintage lovers.
Over in Florida, one was recently placed up for sale and it was in remarkably good condition.

The 1968 Chevrolet Corvette sold for a lot less than you might think
Due to their enduring appeal, Chevrolet Corvettes are a prime choice for restorations.
Just take a look at this 1965 model that was put back on the road after more than four decades, or this incredibly low-mileage ‘Vette from the 1980s that was unearthed on a farm and returned to its former glory.

Over in Florida, this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette that recently went up for sale was still in pretty good shape, considering its age.
Its paintwork and interiors have held up well over the years, and it has a solid frame, working windows, wipers, and radio.
The Corvette still runs and has a ‘strong motor and transmission, good clutch, good braking system’, according to the listing from eBay seller arminhott87.
The car spent more than 40 years with the same owner, and when he sadly passed on, he left the classic Corvette to his son.
However, his son decided to sell up as he didn’t have the space for the car.
The car was listed on eBay with no reserve, but it ended up selling over the weekend for $18,300.

Not a great price considering its condition and that it’s still running.
Or when you consider the fact that the average price of a 1968 Corvette is a much heftier $57,727, according to Classic.
Seems like someone may have got themselves a bit of a bargain.
The stunning concept that inspired the C3
When the third-generation ‘Vette was launched, it was hailed as ‘all different all over’ by Chevrolet.
And the marque wasn’t lying.
The C3 had a bunch of new features and stylistic elements, including the first T-top removable roof panels seen on the Corvette.
Many of those features were actually taken from the Mako Shark II, a concept car that was designed to turn heads.
The concept was so popular that there was a bit of an outcry when it didn’t go into production, and instead, a somewhat watered-down version was released in the C3.
