This Florida man was overjoyed when he bought his dream car – a vibrant yellow Toyota Supra – less than five years ago – however, his joy was crushed when he learned how much repairs would cost to get it on the road.
In a viral video on TikTok, he revealed that his beloved sports car already had a steering issue that made it undriveable until he spent $4000 fixing it.
He shared that the dealership offered him money to take it off his hands, but he’s torn because it’s his dream car.
Commenters on TikTok had a lot of things to say about his car and the extortionate price it would cost to fix it, suggesting some solutions and some comments that can be described as…less than helpful.

The shocking cost of repairs on his Toyota Supra
Florida based content creator @thatkswappedek loves to talk all things cars, but the one thing he loves the most in this world is his vibrant yellow Toyota Supra sports car that he purchased less than five years ago.
All cars require regular maintenance to keep them ship-shape, but this content creator’s day was ruined when he discovered a steering issue with his beloved sports car.
After taking it to the Toyota dealership, the TikToker was hit with the sad revelation that his car needed a new rack and pinion system.

“I just got back from the Toyota dealership,” he told his viewership.
“And I got news I didn’t want to hear,” he added.
The new rack and pinion steering system would cost him $4,355.70 if it were replaced by the dealership or $2000 if he sorted it out on his own by getting the parts and installing them himself.
What do others think?
The content creator decided to leave his Toyota Supra sat in the driveway while he mulled over his decision.
One commenter told him: “Buy an extended warranty. Submit the claim in a couple months.”
Another suggested that he could ‘get a steering rack off a wrecked on[e] and install [it] yourself’.
Lots of the comments are in agreement with the TikToker who believes that in this collaboration between BMW and Toyota, the car is far more BMW.
It’s a shame that this dream car became a nightmare after only five years – it might be time for him to learn how to replace a rack and pinion system.
