A Florida YouTuber got a surprise after buying an Audi R8 V10 supercar that ended up smoking badly, which may have been due to its $60,000 supercharger kit.

YouTuber Samcrac loves to buy often written-off vehicles and get them back on the road again, but this Audi supercar was a little bit different.

After buying the car, Sam didn’t even make it one mile towards his home before he had to call breakdown recovery.

With a $60,000 supercharger kit on, it’s perhaps not a surprise the supercar ended up smoking.

How much did the YouTuber pay for the Audi R8 V10?

Even with a supercharger kit on it, Sam didn’t pay too much due to the high mileage of the supercar.

He paid just $55,000 for the supercharged supercar.

Its 92,000 miles do explain part of the reason the R8 was so cheap.

It didn’t take long after he got his hands on the car to reveal that it had some issues.

One of the problems was that the supercharger was making a weird noise, suggesting it needed a rebuild.

As we see in his video, the Audi began to produce smoke while Sam was on a test drive.

Fixing the issues with the German supercar

There was no way that the Audi R8 V10 could be left producing so much smoke and noise.

The YouTuber was convinced that a faulty tensioner on the alternator was causing the problem.

Fixing that removed the horrible ‘chirping’ noise that the Audi was initially making.

Not satisfied, Sam did more work on the supercharger to eliminate further issues with the supercar.

Towards the end of the video, it looked like the car was finally fixed and ready for him to drive again.

With the supercharger working as it should, the German V10 supercar sounded absolutely glorious.

As the fixes were nowhere near as bad as Sam feared, it looked like he ended up with a very sweet deal.
