Meet Rachel Veitch, a Florida woman who used multiple lifetime warranties to maintain her car for 43 years while spending basically nothing on upkeep.

In an old video that’s recently gone viral, Rachel’s story about her life-long companionship with her 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente is impressing frugal people with her commitment to a lifetime warranty.

Rachel unfortunately died at the age of 99, but it was reported that she drove 540,000 miles in her car before she passed away.

The Caliente she lovingly named ‘Chariot’ outlasted all three of her previous marriages because it ‘never lied to me, never cheated on me, and I can always depend on her.’

She kept her car running for 43 years using lifetime warranties

A Florida woman named Rachel Veitch recently went viral in an old video about her frugal lifestyle.

The video followed her 43-year-long story of companionship with the 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente she’d lovingly named ‘Chariot’.

She kept her car running for 43 years by exclusively buying replacement parts that came with a lifetime warranty.

She knew Chariot inside and out and would stay with her beloved car during tune-ups and repairs.

Rachel would hold each of the companies that she purchased parts with lifetime guarantees from to their word.

And every single company complied.

She only paid $13 for a 6,000 mile checkup

The frugal Floridian used her lifetime guarantees to ensure that she saved as much money as she could. So she once only paid $13 for a 6,000-mile checkup.

Thanks to those lifetime guarantees, she had seven replacement mufflers and 16 new batteries.

But here’s the real kicker – some of the companies who appreciated her commitment to the lifetime guarantee even made moves for other companies to cover costs.

Sadly, Rachel passed away aged 99.

But with 540,000 miles on the odometer, it’s clear her car was her greatest love affair. It even outlasted her three ex-husbands.

“[Chariot’s] never lied to me, never cheated on me, and I can always depend on her,” she said.
