A turbine-powered Camaro isn’t something you expect to see in a McDonald’s drive-thru, yet here we are.
This Chevy’s custom-built, powered by a literal helicopter engine, and sounds like a fighter jet clearing for take-off.
The plan? Take it for a spin, make sure it doesn’t explode, and reward the team with soft serve.
Except no soft serve was acquired. What they got instead was a lot of fire, a full-blown drive-thru spectacle, and the ultimate proof that turbine power and fast food logistics do not mix.

What it’s like to take a turbine-powered Camaro through a McDonald’s drive-thru
First, let’s talk setup.
This isn’t just some swapped V8 Camaro. It’s a fire-breathing, afterburner-equipped, jet-powered monster.
When it idles, it goes 45mph. When it revs, it shoots flames. When things go wrong – and they do – it usually ends in flames and smoke.
The man behind the madness? Cleetus McFarland – Florida-based YouTuber, burnout world record holder, and full-time chaos coordinator.

He and his crew call the car the ‘Turbanaro’, and it’s a jet-powered fever dream on four wheels.
After some quick garage surgery (backwards oil lines, failed fuel controller, mystery flameouts), they got it lit – literally – and hit the road.
No trailer, no support car. Just jet fuel, optimism, and a craving for dessert.
Naturally, they headed for McDonald’s. Because, according to Cleetus, ‘what’s more American than driving your helicopter engine-powered Camaro to McDonald’s to get a McFlurry?’

But the plan fell apart fast. Achieving about as much success as when a group tried to take a bomb-proof 6×6 through the drive-thru and held up the queue because it didn’t fit.
The car couldn’t be shut off in the drive-thru. It was too loud for anyone inside to hear them. The engine was so hot they worried about lighting up the menu board.
And worst of all? The ice cream machine was down – been there.

It flamed out, caught fire, and they still didn’t get dessert
On the way back, things continued to unravel.
They hit a bump, the turbine flamed out, and the car lost power.
While trying to recover, Cleetus accidentally threw it into reverse at speed, locking up the rear tires and nearly sending the whole thing sideways.
Somehow, it didn’t. The engine coughed back to life, flames lit up the rearview, and they kept rolling.
But the heat kept climbing. Too many fireballs. Too much throttle. By the time they limped home, the bumper was scorched and the underbody was literally on fire.

And through it all? The engine ran like nothing happened. Oil pressure? Perfect. Cabin? Weirdly smooth.
In the end, they torched gallons of jet fuel, flirted with total disaster, and got denied by a broken ice cream machine.
No McFlurry. No shake. Just the very polite apology that anyone who’s tried to get a McDonald’s soft serve is familiar with.
