This Chinese company has actually fulfilled many people’s dreams by revealing real-life flying cars at Auto Shanghai this week.
The FAW Group has proven that the sky’s the limit with its electrical vertical takeoff and landing (EVTOL) Hongqi vehicle.
With a range of 124 miles, the Chinese company is building them with the goal of turning them into flying taxis.
The new flying car has been given the thumbs up in terms of passenger safety and has an extremely user-friendly intelligent cockpit system, so we’re close to seeing them in the sky.

Auto Shanghai has finally given us flying cars
Until now, the future has been filled with a disturbing lack of flying car technology, but no more should we despair because this week we’ve seen some incredible flying cars revealed at Auto Shanghai.
One of China’s most established automakers, the FAW Group, revealed a new Hongqi branded EV but this one is especially cool because it can vertically take off and land.
It looks like the company plans to make these Hongqi flying cars into a sort of sky Waymo system as they fly autonomously and will be used as a taxi service.
“The flying car’s development and design adhere strictly to the highest industry safety standards,” the company says.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s a Chinese flying car!
The flying car comes with an impressive range of 124 miles and is set to take to the skies officially at the end of the year.
The extremely user-friendly intelligent cockpit system in the Hongqi flying EV is meant to make a ride in the car an easy to understand and low-stress experience.
This is not the only futuristic car we saw unveiled at Shanghai Auto this week, this Mercedes-Benz Vision V was also revealed to rave reviews.
In the very near future you’ll get a notification telling you your taxi is arriving in 2 minutes from directly above you and we can’t wait.
