Ford stole the show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and more specifically, the Timed Shoot-Out Finale, but nobody was expecting the American car manufacturer to do it with a Ford EV truck called ‘SuperTruck’.

The Blue Oval marque beat every other car in the event.

Its SuperTruck was sent out to tackle the 1.17-mile hill climb.

And the Ford SuperTruck managed to smash the nearest time by almost two seconds.

Ford smashes Timed Shoot-Out Finale record

The all-electric SuperTruck is a sight to behold.

This Blue Oval behemoth has been created with an all-electric, tri-motor setup.

Said setup just so happens to produce an absolutely mind-blowing 1,421bhp.

This monstrous creation also manages to produce 6,000lbs of downforce at 150mph.

That is due to the massive rear wing and heavily advanced aero features on the SuperTruck.

Romain Dumas is the man the car sent to tackle the world-famous hill climb.

The French driver has been testing Ford’s all-electric creations since 2022.

And Dumas put that experience to good use, demolishing all that stood before it.

Frenchman Dumas managed to pilot the Ford SuperTruck up the Goodwood hill in just 43.23 seconds.

Its nearest competition – Scott Speed’s Subaru Project Midnight – was beaten by 1.81 seconds.

Ford EV truck stands among the Goodwood elite

The Ford Supertruck’s performance puts it among some pretty rarefied air at Goodwood.

In fact, Romain Dumas’ driving put the SuperTruck fourth in the history of the Timed Shoot-Out Finale.

Back in 2012, Nick Heidfeld piloted a McLaren MP4/13 up the hill in then-record time.

In fact, Heidfeld managed to achieve an unbelievable time of 41.6 seconds.

It was a record that stood for a decade – until an all-electric, Irish hypercar stepped in.

The McMurtry Speirling decided to completely obliterate the record of the F1 car.

It did so by flying up the hill in just 39.08 seconds – the first-ever sub-40 second time.

Typically speaking, an EV truck like this tends to thrive when it comes to straight-out performance.

The presence of instant low-end torque provides EVs with an incredible advantage.

EVs also tend to perform superbly well in hill climb events – for a similar reason.

Because combustion engines require oxygen, they tend to suffer with altitude.

EV cars don’t have that issue – because they don’t require said oxygen for said combusion.

To be among such elite company is an enormous achievement for the Ford EV truck.
