Many Ford trucks have been sitting for months in dealer yard and they all have something in common

These Ford trucks are in perfect condition, yet no one is buying them.
From Broncos to F-150s, this dealership is packed with workhorses waiting to find a new home.
There is one thing that all these trucks have in common, besides being Ford-made.
They were all made in the same year, and it’s making them all totally undesirable.

The dealership full of unsold Ford trucks
YouTuber Thomas Sieber spotted something unusual at his local Ford dealership – dozens of unsold Ford trucks.
This phenomenon isn’t limited to just one dealer—it’s happening across the United States.
We’re just weeks away from 2025, and with the new year comes the 2025 models.
Every truck in this yard is a 2024 model, yet still carries a hefty price tag.
Ford isn’t offering any discounts or rewards to customers, despite these 2024 models being moments away from being so last year.
“It’s going to be very interesting to see how they get rid of all this,” Sieber said.
“The only way I know is to do big incentives.”
Sieber toured the lot, spying an F-150 for just under $73,000 and an F-350 Super Duty for a whopping $97,000.
There’s no doubt the F-150 is an impressive vehicle – just look at how it matched up to a first-generation Pontiac GTO in a drag race.
Sure, it’s the most popular American-made vehicle ever, but a price tag that high for a truck that’s been sitting outside for months doesn’t seem quite right.
Plus, customers are wary of how quickly the value of a truck, especially an EV, depreciates.
An issue of inventory
What Sieber noticed was a nationwide issue – Ford’s inventory is higher than the average manufacturer’s.
The company is pouring 2024 stock into its dealerships, but customers are clearly waiting for the 2025 models to drop.
It’s suspected that Ford will have to start offering huge discounts to shift the 2024 models.
However, its inventory is better priced, with customers able to pick up an F-150 for around $37,000 or a Bronco Sport for $30,000.
Many commenters stated that they’d noticed the same phenomenon at their local dealership, and were as shocked as Sieber by the situation.
“Some of these 2024 model year vehicles were actually assembled towards the end of 2023, so they are older than they seem,” one commenter said.
“I’d consider buying an F150 if it was discounted 75%,” another commenter said.
