The Ferrari Purosangue is a fascinating move into the SUV market by the brand, and MotoGP star Aleix Espargaro just bought one.
It’s more than turned a few heads since its initial release back in September 2022.
And it’s clearly caught the eye of one motorsport superstar.
Because former MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaro is the latest celebrity to buy himself a Ferrari Purosangue.

Former MotoGP rider buys Ferrari Purosangue
The Ferrari Purosangue was introduced by the Italian marque in September 2022 and is one of the highest-performing SUVs on the market today.
The Purosangue is a direct rival to the Aston Martin DBX and the Lamborghini Urus.
That’s thanks to its naturally aspirated, 6.5-liter V12 engine, which produces 725hp, as well as 528lb-ft of torque.
As a result, the Ferrari Purosangue can accelerate from 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds.
And the car’s blend of supercar performance with SUV practicality is a winner.
In fact, the performance and handling have come in for particular acclaim across the board.
Many consider the Ferrari Purosangue to be one of the few SUVs that actually warrant the ‘SUV’ moniker.
And it’s clearly this blend of performance and practicality that has led a former MotoGP rider to buy one.
Ex-MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaro has officially bought a Ferrari Purosangue for himself.
In a post captioned, ‘Happy bday to me!’, Espargaro poses with his bright red Ferrari.
He also shows off the practicality of Ferrari’s SUV, posting a picture with his family all inside – alongside the hashtag ‘DreamFamilyCar.’
Aleix Espargaro has been in MotoGP for nearly 20 years
Aleix Espargaro is one of the longest-enduring faces in the MotoGP paddock.
The current Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) test rider has been a part of the paddock since 2006.
He was a consistent contender in the MotoGP class from 2012, when he was offered a ride with the Power Electronics Aspar team.
Two seasons dominating the open CRT class saw Espargaro offered a factory ride with the Team Suzuki Ecstar.
The Spaniard was a driving force in helping to shape the Suzuki GSX-RR into an eventual race-winning MotoGP bike.

From 2017 until his retirement last season, Aleix was the focal point of the factory Aprilia Racing Team.
Much like with Suzuki, Espargaro was a key influence in developing the RS-GP into a seriously competitive bike.
2025 has seen Aleix Espargaro switch his black-and-red leathers for the red, white, and blue as a test rider for Honda.
Now he’s there, it’s hoped that Espargaro will be able to help develop the Honda RC213V back into a competitive motorcycle.
At least he won’t be late to testing days and wildcards at the circuit anytime soon.
