When a Redditor’s girlfriend spotted an Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider in a French parking lot, there was a bit of confusion.

She snapped a picture and sent it off with the text to her partner that read, ‘I don’t know if it’s cool’.

Leaving this Reddit user – and the rest of the internet – stunned.

And for good reason, because this isn’t just any car – it’s a $3 million hypercar. One of only 85 ever built.

So… is the Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider ‘cool’?

The photo blew up after Reddit user Eraxxy shared it online.

The OP explained their girlfriend stood beside the Valkyrie Spider for 10 minutes before even noticing it, only clocking it once her mom pointed it out.

For a non-car person, that’s forgivable.

For the rest of us, it’s borderline heresy.

Redditors piled on in the comments.

“I can’t imagine looking at this and wondering if it’s cool,” one wrote.

Another compared it to their brother who mistakes a Lincoln for a McLaren every time.

Not everyone was enthused by the Valkyrie, though.

One user going as far as to call it ‘just a Mazda with a body kit’.

The reality?

This isn’t some tarted-up Mazda.

It’s a car born from Formula One minds – Aston Martin, Red Bull Advanced Technologies, and Cosworth.

Packing a 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 with an electric motor kicker, the Aston Martin Valkyrie pushes 1,140 bhp and weighs barely over a ton thanks to carbon everything.

The Spider version swaps the roof for a removable top, but performance remains savage – 217mph with it on, 205mph without.

Spotting one in a random French parking lot is essentially winning the automotive lottery, or getting a front-row seat to it.

Only 85 exist worldwide, and this dark green example is likely worth north of $3 million.

The Valkyrie has a habit of blowing minds

While some might only just be waking up to the fact the Aston Martin Valkyrie is indeed cool, we’ve been saying it all along.

Supercar Blondie unpacked everything you need to know about the car, from Adrian Newey’s fingerprints on the design to its F1-style cockpit.

And when Alex Hirschi got behind the wheel herself, she called it a $3 million Formula One car for the street.

So whether you think it’s ‘just a Mazda with a body kit’ or the pinnacle of modern hypercars, the Valkyrie is the kind of machine that leaves nobody neutral once they really understand what it is.

‘Cool’ isn’t up for debate when you’re standing next to a $3 million Valkyrie Spider.
