Rare one-of-two Tesla-powered Freightliner EV van hits Facebook Marketplace out of LA, but there’s a big catch

This is the world’s first Freightliner EV with a Tesla engine, and it’s currently available for sale on Facebook in Los Angeles.

It looks more or less like any other van, apart from the fact it doesn’t have a front grille.

And it doesn’t have a front grille because it doesn’t need one, considering it’s electric.

But there’s just a ‘minor’ catch.

There’s a ‘minor’ catch with this Freightliner

This Freightliner is currently available from Facebook Marketplace, in Los Angeles, with a $60,000 price tag attached to it.

It’s a lot of money for a van, especially one that doesn’t work.

Because that is – unfortunately – the catch.

This Tesla-powered van doesn’t work.

The seller wrote as much in the ad on Facebook, and he also added he doesn’t know why the engine won’t run.

There are apparently only two of these, so we can at least call it a rare vehicle.

Interestingly, the seller said the van is powered by a Tesla engine, but didn’t go into details, so we don’t know anything other than that.

We don’t know which specific Tesla engine it uses, and we don’t know anything about the van’s power or range.

Can electric power save old vehicles?

Several companies are converting old classics into electric vehicles.

Some people see this idea as a way to save old vehicles that wouldn’t be usable with the original engine.

This is happening across the board, with people turning anything from old Ferraris and Porsches to iconic AC Cobras into EVs.

Purists don’t really like the idea, mostly because by removing the original engine you sometimes end up getting rid of the very thing that defines the car.

But, on the flip side, you sometimes turn old, museum-bound vehicles into something you can drive every day.

That’s what Hollywood star Jason Momoa did with his Rolls-Royce, a 100-year-old vehicle he’s now using as a daily driver.
