This genius man accidentally discovered a game-changing Google Maps feature that’s been hidden in your car’s infotainment all this time.

He described getting to his 30s before accidentally finding it while swiping around on Google Maps on his car’s infotainment system.

The hack is meant to stop drivers from being distracted by trying to pinch and zoom on the map while trying to drive.

And other drivers were equally as shocked to learn about it.

Game-changing Google Maps feature

If you drive any sort of modern car, you might find yourself wrestling with the in-car tech, especially when it comes to the infotainment system.

When you’re navigating, it’s hard to make changes while you’re driving.

And, sometimes, if you’re crossing a lot of lanes of traffic, it can be a bit of a confusing system on Google Maps.

While this TikToker was panic-swiping at his navigation system, he accidentally swiped on the green direction box in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

And to his shock, it did something.

What does the lesser-known Google Maps feature do?

Turns out, when he swiped the green direction box, he could see his whole journey in directions, as opposed to trying to work it out through the map.

This system helps you, as a driver, see what parts of your journey you have ahead of you without distracting you from driving, and makes it easy to see a few steps ahead.

It took the TikToker till his 30s to discover this life hack, but he hoped to spread the word to other panicked Google Maps users.

You’ve always got to be a few steps ahead of the game, and this hack certainly assists with that.

Happy driving!
