Logan Paul and his new Pokemon card.

YouTube star Logan Paul has flown out to Dubai to acquire “the rarest Pokémon card in the world” before his Wrestlemania appearance.

The card in question is a PSA Grade 10 Illustrator Pikachu and it is a one of one card. No other Pikachu cards are as highly rated as this one.

In addition to its rarity, Paul also bagged himself a Guinness World Record for the most expensive Pokémon trading card to ever sell at a private sale after he forked out a staggering US$5.275 million.

The previous owner is unknown, but they must be having the time of their life following this huge sale.

Paul detailed the sale in an Instagram post with a photo of him receiving his Guinness World Records certificate.

“The real star of Wrestlemania — my 1/1 PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator that I purchased for $5,275,000, officially setting the Guinness World Record for ‘most expensive Pokémon trading card sold at a private sale’,” the 27-year-old star wrote.

“An absurd amount of money for cardboard, but let me explain…

“The Pikachu Illustrator is the rarest Pokémon card in the world. Only 39 of them exist, and this is the ONLY PSA 10 (perfect condition).

“Up until this weekend, there were no pictures or videos of this card ANYWHERE online — the previous owner was extremely private, and its existence was only a rumor.”

Paul added he had “insisted” the previous owner sell him the card and engaged in five months of negotiation.

“It’s held in an $80k custom diamond pendant with a Pokéball ball,” he wrote.

The social media star exchanged a PSA Grade 9 Pikachu Illustrator card worth $1,275,000 he had bought from renowned sports card collector Matt Allen in Como, Italy, according to Guinness World Records.

After buying the rarest Pokemon card, Paul proudly wore it around his neck during his WrestleMania debut at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
