Genesis off-road concepts are pushing the brand into tougher, wilder territory than ever before.

Unveiled in the vast Rub al Khali desert, the lineup proves Genesis is serious about blending luxury with real off-road performance.

The dramatic showcase included extreme machines built for dunes, rocks, and harsh terrain.

Yet even among all that dust and horsepower, one ultra-rare luxury SUV quietly stole attention.

These Genesis off-road concepts were tested in desert conditions

The headline act was the X Skorpio Concept, Genesis’ first true extreme off-road vehicle.

Inspired by the resilience of a black scorpion, it rides on a tubular frame with a full roll cage and components sourced from off-road endurance racing specialists.

Power comes from a monstrous V8 producing about 1,100 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque.

Massive 40-inch off-road tires wrapped around beadlock wheels, plus motorsport-grade brakes and serious ground clearance, make it built to fly across dunes and survive brutal landings.

Despite the toughness, the cabin showcases the luxury Genesis is known for.

The interior focuses on both driver performance and passenger comfort, with ergonomic seating, climate systems to reduce fatigue, and a sliding display that can shift between driver-focused and co-driver navigation modes.

The instrument cluster sits in the steering wheel for quick glances while tackling rough terrain.

Materials like suede and leather use patterns inspired by a scorpion’s body, mixing aggression with high-end craftsmanship.

Alongside it were the GV60 Outdoors, GV70 Outdoors, and GV80 Desert Edition concepts.

The GV60 Outdoors shows how Genesis’ electric SUV could evolve into a rugged adventure tool.

Meanwhile, the GV70 Outdoors features lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and added lighting that makes it look more trail-ready than its regular cousin.

Finally, the GV80 Desert Edition ties into Dakar heritage and was demonstrated in real desert conditions, reinforcing Genesis’ performance credibility.

The GV80 Twilight is a limited edition 1-of-20 model

Still, the star of the lineup remains the GV80 Twilight, which is the only vehicle that isn’t a concept.

This limited production model, restricted to just a handful of units in the Middle East, wears a stunning two-tone finish with brushed patterns inspired by wind-shaped desert sand.

Inside, a bold sunset-like orange interior makes it feel more bespoke luxury lounge than off-road machine.

The GV80 Twilight is rarer than some hypercars, and it showcases Genesis’ ambition to gain a foothold in the luxury car market.
