Stop the car! The internet is hailing this Australian parking lot feature as ‘genius’, as drivers insisted it should be rolled out at parking lots around the world.
When you’re at a grocery store, you’ll be used to the standard parking spaces.
The average driver has no doubt thought at one point or another, ‘These spaces are way too narrow’.
If the response to this Australian parking lot is anything to go by, it may be a solution to this common complaint – but you might be surprised about the reason behind its appeal.

This parking lot feature is something drivers would really benefit from
The parking lot in question is at Glebe Hill Village Shopping Centre in Tasmania.
Rather than the standard white line dividing up each space, this parking lot has rectangular boxes splitting everything up.
That means that drivers have at least two feet between themselves and the surrounding cars, rather than the measly centimeters that we’ve all been accustomed to.

The most obvious benefit of this is that you’ll be able to get out of your car comfortably, without having to turn yourself into an escape artist.
But there’s also the fact that it lowers the odds of banging your car door on the neighboring vehicle.
Because let’s face it, that’s an awkward situation no driver wants to find themselves in.

And as if all of that wasn’t enough of a selling point, there’s also the fact that drivers can now pull in and out of the spaces with greater ease.
There’s one downside, though: there’ll be fewer parking spaces available in the parking lot.
Is that a worthwhile trade-off? That’s for drivers to decide.
When images of this parking lot feature were shared online, it received wide praise as some called it ‘genius’, while other locals labeled the lot an ‘absolute elite parking experience’.

The US could learn a lot from other countries
There are a lot of great innovations around the world that Americans would likely appreciate if they were adopted by the US.
Take this ‘next-level technology’ in a Chinese parking lot as a prime example of that.
Over in Japan, the government has a way of clearing snow from the road that would work wonders in the States.
Even down to roadworks, countries like Switzerland are doing it in a way that we could all stand to learn from.
