This woman took off 4,000 Christmas lights from her GMC Denali truck, only to find serious damage on the truck’s paint.
She had the entire truck fitted with these lights, which ended up ruining the vehicle with glue reside.
Maybe she was expecting some damage and was prepared for it, or maybe she wasn’t.
But either way, she’s now looking at thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Why the Christmas lights ruined the paint on her GMC Denali truck
Using glue is probably the easiest way to fit your car with Christmas lights.
It’s also the easiest way to damage the car.
The latest content creator to fall victim to this Christmas holidays trend is TikTok user @onlyluv.sofi_903.
The Texas-based creator fitted her GMC Denali with thousands, she said over 4,000 to be exact, individual Christmas lights.
The truck looked spectacular with the lights on, but it’s a mess now, with patches of dried glue everywhere.
A lot of people in the comments pointed out this was a disaster waiting to happen, with some people saying ‘she should’ve been prepared’.
Another commenter said this is something a ‘$12,000 paint job can fix’, which was probably a sarcastic comment, but also an accurate one.
The GMC Denali is a huge car, so $12,000 to have the whole thing repainted sounds more or less on the nose.
When cars become Christmas trees
Sometimes, some people turn their vehicles into Christmas trees.
It’s a thing these days.
A Porsche Cayenne Coupe owner did something similar with his SUV just before Christmas, and he too had to find out (the hard way) that Christmas lights damage the car’s paintwork.
It could’ve been worse, though.
Not long ago, a dealership chose to decorate a Bugatti Chiron, of all cars, with Christmas lights.
We are certainly hoping they thought of a way to protect the Bugatti’s paint before going ahead with this ‘project’.
But believe it or not somebody once managed to do even better, or worse depending on your point of view, than that.
They organized hypercar parade where every car was decorated like a Christmas tree.
