What is there to see at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022?
At the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, there are three main displays to be seen – the Main Paddock, Supercar Paddock, and First Glance Paddock.
As the names imply, the Main Paddock showcases a mix of cars including classic racers and the latest EVs.
The Supercar Paddock brings together some of the rarest and most exotic supercars on the planet.
Meanwhile, the First Glance Paddock offers an exclusive look at upcoming models, with cars ranging from mild to wild.
If there’s a star attraction, though, it has to be the famed hillclimb.
A 1890m (1.1mile) track that climbs 92.7m (304ft), vehicles on display from the Main, Supercar, and First Glance Paddocks all come together here to see who can set the fastest time.
Currently, the record is held by the Volkswagen I.D. R which did it in just 39.9 seconds.
There’s also a Forest Rally Stage where the world’s best rally drivers come together to test their skills.
Additionally, there will be meet and greet events with the world’s best racing drivers, as well as future tech and automotive-style displays.
Of course, the Central Feature in front of Goodwood House is also one of the event’s must-sees, with a unique display each year.
This year, it will celebrate 50 years of BMW M cars.

Is Goodwood Festival of Speed worth it?
For motoring die-hards, it’s absolutely worth attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022.
With such a wide array of cars on display in a picturesque setting with a buzzing atmosphere, it really is one of the world’s premiere motoring events.
Even if you aren’t a full-blown petrolhead, there’s still a lot to enjoy though.
Casual car fans will still enjoy seeing some of these machines pushed to the limit on the hillclimb track, or on display in the paddocks.
As former F1 driver Mark Webber puts it: “We’ve got kids, we’ve got granddad here, mum and dad… it’s the best event in the world and I don’t know who’s second, but it’s a long, long way behind.
