The most expensive car in Gran Turismo 7 is a classic worth 20,000,000 credits – equivalent to $200 in real money – but that’s just a taste of the game’s epic scale.
Gran Turismo 7 is just the latest entry in one of PlayStation’s most successful franchises, with the series receiving commercial success and critical acclaim alike.
With ultra-realistic driving physics and an unbeatable variety of tracks, a $200 car just shows how high-end this gaming world is.
In fact, collecting these awe-inspiring cars is half the fun for some gamers.
The classic car that costs 20 million credits
What classic car will set you back 20 million credits if you buy it on Gran Turismo 7?

None other than the W 196, developed by Mercedes-Benz all the way back in 1954.
Made in anticipation of F1 regulations favoring 2.5-liter engines, the W 196 R 55 was specifically made for competition in F1.
Its 2496 cc inline-8 engine produced 285hp and could catapult the car to a top speed of 180mph.

This speed served it well in the 1954 and 1955 Formula One Championships, with Juan Manuel Fangio behind the wheel both times.
But it’s not all about the speed.
This car is old school in the best sort of way, and in the game, it handles very much like it would in real life.
This means it can be somewhat challenging for some drivers.
But it’s as authentic as they come.

What did Gran Turismo 7 players think of the W 196 R 55?
One YouTuber LiamFox11 took a closer look at the car over on his YouTube channel.
Emphasizing the 20 million credit price tag, he took the car out for a spin to see if it was ‘worth it’.
“This vehicle is extremely light on fuel, extremely fast down the straightway,” Liam said.

“Is this vehicle worth it? If you’re a big Mercedes fanboy, this vehicle is for you.”
Viewers agreed wholeheartedly with his assessment.
“It’s one of the few cars in the game that feels like driving a real car,” one commenter said.
“Definitely worth the price, I bought it and enjoyed driving it. The exhaust is fire,” another fan chimed in.
20 million credits sure sounds like a lot, doesn’t it?
But how does someone earn so many?

Well, the option is there to spend the money to buy up, which would be $200 in this case.
But gamers can also rack up credits by completing races and championships.
Some races give higher payouts – and you can secure yourself a nice bonus if you manage to complete the race without any collisions.
There’s also the option to sell some of your unwanted cars within the game.
Ultimately, the high cost shows how multifaceted the gameplay really is.
Much like real life, there are multiple routes towards an end goal.
Achievement is very much rewarded in Gran Turismo 7, you just have to hone in your skills to hit the jackpot.
