The record-setting airplane manufacturer

Gulfstream is no stranger to setting records

The aviation company has a whole fleet of speedy planes under its belt.

In fact, its new G800 private jet is so good that it even surprised the people who made it

It also recently retired the record-breaking G650 jet after one million flight hours.

But, get ready to be even more impressed at the latest milestone passed by the brand.

The company just set another brand-new record

The new city-pair speed record happened in the air between Taipei and Miami

“The G700 traveled 7,740 nautical miles/14,334 kilometers in 14 hours and 38 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.87 during its April 1 flight,” stated Gulfstream.

The record isn’t just any old record either.

You see, it’s the 700th record-breaking flight completed by the giant, and it just happened to occur 50 years after the company’s first-ever record-setting flight.

‘In fact, as the official site states, the company’s ‘first U.S. National Aeronautic Association (NAA) accredited speed record [was] set in 1975 by the Gulfstream GII’, which flew between Antigua and Senegal.

According to the manfacturer, the latest record is thanks to the ‘combination of Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, Gulfstream-designed advanced aerodynamics, and the high-speed winglet introduced on the aircraft’.

The record-setting jet is as luxe as you think it is

The G700 jet, as you would expect, has some impressive features onboard

It has the largest windows in business aviation, alongside the lowest cabin altitude. The cabin boasts plush seats and high-tech entertainment features to keep passengers occupied to the maximum.

The space and opportunities really are endless.

The craft also has a maximum range of 7,750 Nautical Miles (14,353 km) and 0.935 Mach.

The speedy G700 has had one year in the skies and ‘surpassed 80 city-pair speed records’ – so it really has spread its wings in the right direction.

Gulfstream has a long tradition of introducing new technologies and capabilities with each new aircraft generation.

“The G700 is no exception with its next-generation flight deck technology and combination of speed, range, and cabin size,” said the president of Gulfstream, Mark Burns.
