It is amazing what you can find as you go exploring, and one American found a one-of-one ‘oddity’ 1971 Dodge Challenger Muscle car wagon that was sitting in the middle of nowhere.

That might sound like a far-fetched tale, but someone did discover it, although looks are deceiving, as this is not a car built by Dodge.

This unusual vehicle looks to have been left outside for some time, judging by its overall condition and the dirt that it has accumulated.

But the explorer was still able to get a good look at it, and they shared it on their YouTube channel, Adventures with Austin.

Who made this 1971 Dodge Challenger wagon?

The current owner recounted the story of how this vehicle was created.

The 1971 Dodge Challenger was modified in 1973, after the original owner was involved in a rear-end collision.

However, rather than replace the rear-end, the owner decided to have some fun with the muscle car.

A roof from an Oldsmobile Vista-Cruiser was taken, as well as the rear hatch from an AMC Gremlin.

The result is something similar to this muscle car looks like the creation of Frankenstein.

But the quality of the work is very impressive.

It is a far cry from how the Dodge looked as it came out of the factory.

The muscle car had a different factory look

When the Challenger came out of the factory, the current owner said it was red with a white stripe.

The vinyl top was also white, as was the interior of the car.

It was the father of the current owner who bought it from the creator of the car.

Instead of red, the Challenger is now in a Plum Crazy color, with a white stripe and white interior.

It still has muscle car power under the hood thanks to a 383ci V8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor.

The muscle car also comes with an automatic transmission.

At the time of writing, this strange creation was sadly not in a running condition.

But its owner is looking to get that sorted so it can get back on the road again.

Fully restored, we think this Dodge Challenger will look epic, if a little bit different from the norm.
