These brave Tennessee guys spent $10,000 on three jet boats from Temu, but what they unboxed left them worried they might not even float.

Buying cars off eBay or parts off Facebook Marketplace is one thing, but buying three jet boats off Temu? Seems a bit dangerous.

Temu, the online shopping app better known for $2 gadgets and suspiciously cheap sneakers, isn’t exactly the first place many would go hunting for boats.

But when the YouTubers spotted mini electric jet boats listed for sale, they knew they had to try it, after all, what could possibly go wrong?

Unboxing 3 ‘jet boats’ from Temu

Two Tennessee brothers, known for their wild garage builds and offbeat YouTube projects, have gone viral again – this time for buying three electric jet boats off Temu.

The bargain boats arrived in massive crates after a six-month wait, and each one came in a different color, complete with steering wheels, throttle controls, and forklift-sized batteries – and Chinese instructions.

The brothers weren’t sure what to expect, but the specifications promised 30-50 kilometres per hour (about 18-30mph)- super fast for something barely big enough to sit in.

First impressions on the water

At first, the boats floated – to everyone’s relief – but performance in the shallow creek in Tennessee quickly revealed quirks.

The mini jet boats can actually plane and pick up surprising speed if you lean your whole body forward.

“This thing turns so bad,” one of the brothers joked mid-ride.

One boat took on water after hitting a submerged rock, leaving a small hole in its hull.

Another bent its rear fin after scraping past obstacles.

Still, the brothers powered through, figuring they could patch the damage later and even talked about upgrading to LED lights for night rides.

While they weren’t the best boats ever, they were a lot of fun, and that’s good enough for them.
