The air fryer has found its way into nearly every home after taking social media by storm, but now the cost-cutting food maker is being thrown out in favor of something newer and more exciting: the halogen oven.
TikTok streams, Instagram reels, and even common food packaging companies have all bent to the will of the air fryer.
It’s much more cost-effective than heating an entire oven just for some sweet potato fries, and it cooks your food far, far quicker.
But having achieved celebrity status through starring in cookbooks, recipe columns, and YouTube hack videos, the air fryer is now old news, and the halogen oven is in.

Halogen ovens are the new tech craze in the kitchen
With the tech world continuing to make every aspect of our lives easier, a range of appliances has recently taken the food industry by storm.
One of those is the halogen oven, which is taking over the healthy household cooking chore from the air fryer.
Born out of the mind of someone who scolded their fingertips on a halogen lightbulb (probably), the new oven uses the heat generated from light to cook your food.
Costing only the price of running a light bulb, rather than the powerful motors in the air fryer, the halogen ovens can be heated up to over 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit), and are proven to be extremely healthy.

Covered by a glass bowl, you can keep an eye on how your food is cooking (rather than melting a GoPro inside of your air fryer).
Cheaper, healthier, and just as effective, what’s the drawback?
Well, for good-quality halogen ovens, you need to pay a premium, which negates the whole cost-saving element.
But in reality, it seems like a marketing issue.
Still, people are beginning to make the switch, as the air fryer is so totally 2025.
Is the air fryer era really over?
After making the switch, one reviewer said: “I treated myself to a halogen oven to help with Christmas; I only have one shelf in my oven. It is one million times better than the rubbish air fryer I got in the summer.”

But there are even more daringly brilliant methods on the up-and-up.
Superstar celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has replaced his kitchen appliances to begin making grilled cheese on the heat emitted by an Aston Martin engine, for example.
But if you can’t afford the multi-million-dollar Valkyrie to make your toasties, then another creator proved that the dashboard of a standard car could be heated enough to cook pizza on in some US states.
But for now, the halogen oven poses the biggest threat to the air fryer.

But until it gets into cookbooks from the most renowned chefs in the world and goes mega viral on social media sites, the air fryer will likely remain king.
