Hennessey has revealed a hypercar with a manual transmission and 2,031 horsepower, a specification that places it among the most extreme road cars to date.

The Venom F5 LF debuted at Monterey Car Week with a six-speed gated gearbox and a twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8.

That engine, named Fury, produces more horsepower than any other internal combustion car the company has built.

The project is a single-car build that also opens the door to a new era of custom engineering at Hennessey.

Manual transmission meets 2,031 horsepower

The Venom F5 LF delivers 2,031 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged V8.

While the Venom F5 Evolution carries the same output, the LF is the only version fitted with a manual transmission.

Its six-speed gated gearbox is unusual in the current hypercar market, where most manufacturers opt for dual-clutch or automatic systems.

For comparison, Dodge’s Challenger SRT Demon 170 generates 1,025 horsepower but was never offered with a manual.

The LF shares bodywork with the Venom Evolution but introduces a new interior designed specifically for this build.

Hennessey has described the LF as its most complex engineering project so far.

Only one has been constructed, giving the car immediate rarity alongside its performance credentials.

By combining a manual transmission with over 2,000 horsepower, the LF sits apart from other hypercars currently on the road.

Hennessey’s next move

The Venom F5 LF also marks the creation of Hennessey’s Maverick division, which will focus on one-off builds for individual clients.

The division is intended to turn specific customer requests into complete, road-ready cars.

It places Hennessey in line with other high-performance manufacturers offering personalized projects, while maintaining its emphasis on extreme horsepower and mechanical design.

The arrival of the LF comes at a time when many automakers are moving toward hybrids and electric drivetrains.

Hennessey is continuing to pursue internal combustion engines, aiming to maximize output and preserve traditional driver engagement.

With 2,031 horsepower and a manual transmission, the Venom F5 LF represents an approach that runs counter to prevailing trends in the performance car industry.
