Proving that good things can come in small packages, HP has shrunk an entire computer down into a small keyboard with its EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC.
The EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC was unveiled by HP at CES 2026.
AI was everywhere at this year’s CES event, from chic wearables to laundry-folding robots, and HP got in on the action with the world’s first full AI PC built into a keyboard.
It’s the smallest and lightest computer HP has ever made, and it could be a real-game changer for desktop computing.

Don’t be fooled by its size, the HP EliteBoard G1a is an impressive bit of kit
When it comes to technology, bigger isn’t always better – just think of those old 1980s cellphones that weighed more than a newborn, or computers that were the same size as a room with all the processing power of a pocket calculator.
And at the complete opposite end of the scale is the new HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC, which is not only super-slim and lightweight but is powered by AMD Ryzen AI processors and supports up to 50 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of NPU performance.

HP says the sleek-looking PC-packing keyboard is designed to revolutionize workspaces, allowing you to ‘work lighter, move faster, and stay focused’ – and who doesn’t need a bit more of that in their working day?
A survey carried out by HP found that less than half of workers (44 percent) believed their current tech fitted their working lifestyle.
But the HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC can move seamlessly between different working environments, making it ideal for those working in flexible and hybrid work environments.
The new-generation PC works with Microsoft Copilot in Windows and has a processing unit that enables AI-assisted workloads to run locally.

“HP’s focus is to remove the friction and complexity that slows people down and turn emerging AI into a real advantage,” HP’s Guayente Sanmartin said in a statement.
“The HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC does exactly that by delivering next-generation local AI power in a keyboard-sized form factor that moves at the speed of modern work.”
No screen? No problem
While the HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC works with any monitor or screen you fancy and can be easily connected via USB, it isn’t the only option.
Last year, tech startup Sightful unveiled its smart augmented-reality Spacetop.
To put it simply, Spacetop uses a pair of AR glasses that link to your computer to generate an immersive AR-powered workspace right in front of your eyes without the need for a monitor.
The system is a little like Meta’s new Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, but designed with productivity at the forefront.
