Footage showing the incredible interior of a Huawei Aito has left EV fans seriously impressed, with some saying it makes Tesla look outdated.

Aito, which stands for ‘Adding Intelligence to Auto’, launched in 2021.

But despite being a relative newcomer to the industry, the marque is producing some very interesting new cars.

It has four current production models, including the M8 and M9.

The Huawei Aito have a seriously cool interior

There are some very interesting things going on in the Chinese car industry lately, with recent launches including the Xiaomi SU7, which counts Ford CEO Jim Farley among its fans, and the Li Auto Mega minivan.

Huawei Aito has also been building up to some big launches.

In 2023 it launched the M9, which comes as either a range extender or an EV, with the range extender offering up to 871 miles (1,402km) of range. It also comes with a very reasonable price tag.

The M8 launched in April this year and was a near-immediate hit, pulling in 28,000 presale orders in just 12 hours and 70,000 firm orders by early May.

The M8 is a range extender electric vehicle with all-wheel drive and has a combined range of up to 948 miles (1,526km).

Inside, the cars have similar interiors and both offer some incredible features, including reclining ‘zero gravity seats’, a 32-inch projector display, and a mini fridge to keep your drink cool.

Above the small cooler, there’s a control panel where you can select what to watch on the projector. Fancy.

There’s also a heap of tech, including three displays integrated into the dashboard, a top-notch sound system, and wireless charging pads in the center console.

A clip of the interior of an Huawei Aito was recently shared online with the captions: “Tesla’s are outdated now?”

And it seemed some folks were quick to agree.

“China EVs are on a whole other level,” one said.

“Much more advanced than what we can get here,” said a second.

“These cars are amazing.”

Are Chinese cars coming to the US market?

If looking at the tech-filled Huawei Aito has got you keen to get your hands on one, then you may be interested to learn that the majority of US carmakers think that Chinese-made vehicles will eventually be sold in America.

The Kerrigan Advisors’ 2025 OEM Survey revealed that 76 percent of American automotive executives thought Chinese-made cars, like the Aito M9, ‘will eventually’ enter the US automotive market.

Although most agreed it would happen, 70 percent admitted that they felt ‘concerned’ about the financial impact of the rising global market share of Chinese automakers on their business.
